Rave Saved My Life
Powerful stories from our community about how dance and rave culture have supported mental health, healing, and personal transformation during life's most challenging moments.
Real Stories of Dance as Healing
These aren't marketing testimonials – they're genuine accounts from community members who found healing, hope, and transformation through movement and music.

From Panic Attacks to Pure Joy
I'd been dealing with severe anxiety and panic attacks for years. Traditional therapy helped, but something was still missing. When I discovered Go Home Global during lockdown, dancing in my kitchen became my daily medicine. The combination of music, movement, and feeling connected to a global community literally saved my mental health. I went from having panic attacks multiple times a week to feeling genuinely joyful most days. Dance became my anchor.

Grief, Movement, and Finding Light Again
After losing my partner suddenly, I was in the darkest place I'd ever been. A friend sent me a link to a PLUR session during one of my worst weeks. I almost didn't join, but something made me turn on the stream. For the first time in months, I moved my body and felt something other than pain. The community chat was so supportive when I shared what I was going through. These sessions became my weekly ritual for processing grief and slowly finding joy again.

Breaking Free from Body Shame
I hadn't danced since I was a teenager because of deep body shame and eating disorder recovery. The idea of moving my body felt terrifying. But the welcoming, judgment-free community at Go Home Global slowly helped me reconnect with movement as joy rather than punishment. Starting in my bedroom with the camera off, I gradually found confidence to be seen dancing. Now I lead my own workplace wellness sessions. Dance taught me that my body is for celebration, not criticism.

From Burnout to Balance
Working 80-hour weeks in tech, I was completely burned out and disconnected from my body. I joined a colleague for an Office to Dancefloor session as a joke, but something clicked. Those 20 minutes of movement in the middle of my workday became essential for my mental health. I started doing the weekend Living Room Raves and remembered what it felt like to be fully present and alive. Dance helped me set better boundaries and find work-life balance I thought was impossible in my industry.
